Wayne HarrisCo-Creator, Co-Playwright and LyricistWayne Harris is an award-winning solo performer, writer, educator, musician and curriculum innovator that was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He has accumulated an impressive body of work that includes five full-length plays including Mother’s Milk, which ran in San Francisco for 14 weeks, and The Letter: Martin Luther King at the Crossroads, which he was invited by the U.S. State Department to perform in Palestine. Wayne has also been involved with some of the country’s best pageantry groups and has pioneered the implementation of theatrical techniques in Winter Guard and Drum Corps since the 1970’s, winning many awards. Wayne is a teaching artist with Marsh Youth Theater and The Formerly Incarcerated People’s Performance Project.

Frank T Williams, Musical Historian Frank T. Williams, III (Musical Historian) currently serves as the Coordinator of Jazz Education for Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Marcia P. Hoffman Fine Arts Institute. Mr. Williams holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from Florida A & M University and a Master of Music degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Frank Williams was the Band Director at Boca Ciega High School from 1981 until 2011.

Ken Owen, percussionKen Owen is a Bay Area native and has been professionally creating music since the late 70’s. Ken served as musical co-director for The Rick Slyter Band for more than 20 years through the 80’s and 90’s and later became part of the award winning country-jazz quartet The Ten Gallon Cats featuring guitarist Jim Campilongo that toured with folk legend Peter Rowan. Recently Ken has shared the stage with such luminaries as Emmy Lou Harris, Peter Rowan, Jim Lauderdale, Buddy Miller and more.

Jordan Feinstein, keyboardJordan Feinstein is one of SF’s go-to Keyboard player – (pre-pandemic) he was a regular in 30 or so bands as well as leading his own: Jordan and the RituaL. He regularly plays with La Gente, Matt Hartle, Lebo, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel and has recently played with Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. Jordan is the Band Leader and Musical Director for A Real Purpose – an SF based Charity organization that helps through music and education.

He regularly plays with La Gente, Matt Hartle, Lebo, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel and has recently played with Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. Jordan is the Band Leader and Musical Director for A Real Purpose – an SF based Charity organization that helps through music and education.

Candace Johnson, vocal coachPraised by Opera Wire for her vocal clarity, dramatic presence, and expressive interpretation, soprano Candace Johnson has concertized at Carnegie Hall, The Manhattan Center and more. In 2018, Johnson premiered her one-woman show, VOX in a BOX at UC Berkeley, followed by “Marsh Rising”. The show is a musical biography of how she fused her black music heritage and classical training to find her “voice”. A professor at UC Berkeley, Johnson specializes in the research and performance of classical works by African-American composers.
